For the DB11 Aston Martin, Bien Sur Auto Route (TM) proposed some time ago a second engine lid to address a front wheel mud flap and engine dirt issue; a cover made out of fire retardant engine area plastic with a metal foil on the engine side with oem fasteners at the top with hinges near the front radiator like the existing lid. With good design, it will be thin enough to fit and durable enough so that it will not melt or prevent the top lid's functioning.
